Other Opportunities include:
The League of Women Voters of Oregon (LWVOR) study from 2007
through 2009 is the Oregon Water Study. Locally we are beginning
a 2-year water study from 2008 - 2010. Recently a finished
study was issued, Election Methods.

Our monthly general meetings offer education on important
issues to League members and the community. This spring we will focus
on development of the local league Observer Corps, a group who attends
public meetings and reports back to the board of directors. We will
also tune into the two State studies on Water and the
Election Methods.
To encourage League members to work for legislative changes in areas where we have positions.
League members attend local public meetings to observe meeting process and learn about community decision making. This committee is taking on new importance in our community. And yet it is an easy way to do something, take action, support your league and stay in touch with your governing bodies. Attend a county commissioners meeting (they're held once a week on Wednesdays), a Roseburg city council meeting, a school board meeting, or a Douglas County planning commission meeting. Take notes while you're there. Refrain from making any statements; we are there only as observers, not to participate. Please fill out the short report form and forward it to the league. That's it. Consider participating in this way. Contact a board member.
